A great success
June 11, 2008 by littlegreenpig
Our first Little Green Pig Performance Night yesterday went brilliantly. Seventeen of our young people (eight Piglets, eight Saddlebacks and
Lucy McClean, our volunteer) stepped up to the mic and treated our ears to the some of the stories and poems they’ve been creating over the last few months. There were so many highlights, from Avila and Lucy’s joint ‘Sisters’ poem, to Jake’s great rendition of
‘The Mixing Bowl’; Ruben’s on-the-spot storytelling and many more. Every one of our performers who took part did such a good job, we are very proud of all of you.
Adam Dench (aka Invokal) was our fantastic host for the night, and we’re hoping to persuade him back to run some workshops for us. We also hope to make some copies of the film, so watch this space.
Thanks to all of you (at a guess we reckon there was about 65!) who came down and helped make it such a special night. You helped us raise over £180, which will be used to help keep Little Green Pig up and running. Leave us a comment and tell us what you thought of the night. We’re already looking forward to the next one.

Hi, I like that picture
I really enjoyed the night, so did Avila, we loved watching all the acts and especially the saddlebacks who we dont know, it’s nice to see what other people had been working on.
We also really enjoyed performing and had some great feedback from a lot of people afterwards.
The night was really well set out, not too late and didnt go on for too long. Adam was fantastic, with his performances and also his hosting it and it was a very enjoyable, and very green, night.
thank you
We hope there will be more??!
We all had a great time. Thanks so much for organising it. I hope there will be many more in the future.
I had a very good time. I really liked the “Sisters” poem and Elliot’s poem. Frankie’s haikus were good, especially the haiku about haikus.
I had my story planned out(mostly!) but I hadn’t finished writing it down so I just had to imagine that I was reading a good Faery-tale written by someone else, and what I’d expect it to be like.
i think it was a brilliant night and hope there will be more soon.
i really liked adams work, it was very different and very inspiring so i would like to say thank you to him for hosting.
what is the name of the girl who read out last for the piglets? i really enjoyed her work. Avila was brilliant as well, its very nice to hear the piglets work as i hadn’t heard any of it before.
thank you lucy ad ella for getting us all exited about creative writing!!!!
Well done all of you! I am very proud of what you achieved on Tuesday night. It’s not easy performing in front of a live audience, especially with people you know, but you all took to the stage like natural actors! We hope there will be opportunities to do more of these events so that people can see what brilliant writing you have been working on. See you all next Tuesday. Lucy
