The Saddlebacks are all working away at their short stories at home so we took the opportunity at the last session to have a go at some poetry. We thought about items of clothing, belonging to ourselves or to other people, and how they convey messages about character and identity. Here’s one of the more abstract poems:
The Mixing Bowl
Made of plastic in a mould
Not made for a head
But that doesn’t matter
I couldn’t care less
It may fall off or over my face
But that makes no difference
I will still wear my bowl
I will still jump off the armchair
I will still run to the tree
In my mixing bowl hat.
We can always rely on Jake for creative interpretations!
